You have again had a tube inserted into your pulmonary artery.
Oxygen-poor blood gets from the heart to the lungs through the pulmonary arteries. In the lungs the blood is enriched with oxygen and then sent back to the heart.
A long time ago you had a tube inserted into your pulmonary artery. This tube has now been removed and replaced by a new tube. A tube like this is inserted into a large vein in the neck, for example. From there, the tip of the tube is pushed through the heart to the pulmonary artery. The other end of the tube hangs a little way out of the body and it can be connected to a measuring device. This enables a check to be done on how the heart and lungs are working.
