OPS-Code 5-536.49:

Closure of abdominal hernias: Closure of an incisional hernia: With alloplastic, allogeneic or xenogenous material: Laparoscopic transperitoneal, with intraperitoneal onlay mesh [IPOM], for a horizontal defect width of less than 10 cm

You have had an operation to close an incisional hernia.

A tube with a camera was pushed through an incision in your skin. The camera sent pictures of your abdominal wall and the inside of your abdomen to a screen. Tools such as forceps and scissors were then inserted through other small incisions in your abdomen.

During the operation the contents of the hernia were replaced in your stomach. A mesh was also placed on your abdominal wall from inside in order to strengthen the weakness there.
