OPS-Code 5-38a.90:

Incision, excision and closure of blood vessels: Endovascular implantation of prosthetic stents: Vena cava: Stent prosthesis with no valve function

One or more synthetic stents were implanted into your vena cava.

The vena cava are large blood vessels. They collect oxygen-poor blood from the body and carry it back to the heart. There is a superior and inferior vena cava.

To implant a stent, a tube is used to push it, folded up, through the blood vessels. The stent is then unfolded in the correction location.
