Arteries are blood vessels that transport blood away from the heart. They supply all the tissue in the body with oxygen-rich blood.Oxygen-poor blood gets from the heart to the lungs through the pulmonary arteries, where the blood is then enriched with oxygen.
To seal a blood vessel, it can be clipped or ligated, for example. As a result, blood is no longer able to flow through the vessel or out of the vessel.
