ICD-Code Z99.4: Dependence on artificial heart
For several months, you have needed a device that assists your heart.
Your heart was probably severely damaged and can thus no longer work properly. A device was thus inserted into your heart to assist it. The device ensures that your heart pumps blood strongly enough through your body.
A cable also runs out of the body from the device in the heart to a control unit. The control unit supplies the device in the heart with an electric current and is thus vitally important.
