ICD-Code P13.1: Other birth injuries to skull
An injury or a defect to the child’s skull occurred during the birth.
The child is subjected to great pressure during a vaginal birth. This pressure is necessary for the child to be born through the pelvis and the vagina. The pressure can cause injuries or defects in the child’s skull area. A deformity of the skull may persist or just be temporary.
